Riding the Recruiting-Coaster

We are eight days out from National Signing Day and five days until the dead period starts that leads up to signing day itself.

Oklahoma fans are on edge waiting for Blue Chip Jacob Phillips final decision, coaches putting on their final presses for recruits, it's a roller-coaster. The roller-coaster will probably only get crazier from here.

Everyone thought Oklaoma had sealed its DB class with the commitment of Tre Norwood (Yes he was the silent commit) but word is North Carolina athlete Ryan Jones is now coming in this weekend for a visit. Jones is a blue-chip prospect who originally committed to the Tarheels at WR but is mostly being recruited as an Athlete as his lanky body type can be transitioned into multiple positions. I hadn't figured much would come out of offer as it happened back in fall and not much momentum or publicity developed openly. Oklahoma seemed focused elsewhere.

Oklahoma still needs help on the defensive line. The two big fish are both blue-chippers in Marvin Wilson (uncommitted) and Taquon Graham (committed to Texas) and red-chippers in Tyreece Lott (former TCU commit), Joshua Rogers (uncommitted) and Tyler James (committed to Arkansas)

I believe Oklahoma will likely miss out on Wilson, but not for a lack of trying. I've been up and down on Graham but I do earnestly believe due to a few sources that Oklahoma is in good position to flip him.  I believe due to missing out on Wilson,Oklahoma will sign one  of the above red-chippers.

My ideal finish to this class: Hold onto Phillips, Flip Graham, sign Ryan Jones and Tyreece Lott

Expect the unexpected. Enjoy the Recruiting-Coaster
