Keep #SoonerSquad17 Together: That is still far and away the biggest goal with this class. Oklahoma fended off a lot of challengers for Lamb and Rambo, and as I type this Sooner nation is kind of on edge about Jacob Phillips and Louisiana State. I think that worry has merit


Be Prepared: It's not just for the Boy Scouts, if Phillips does decide to move on Oklahoma has two really great options. They can pursue Tyler Taylor harder or they can pocket the scholarship for next year. Phillips is a fantastic talent, but Oklahoma recruited the position extremely well this cycle with Gumbs, Draper and Murray.


Needs Elsewhere: The class probably  has it's DB needs covered with the rumored silent commit (Dramatic Music plays), so let us make an assumption that the DB class is finished and the coaches are comfortable there.

The class still needs two on the defensive line. and time is drawing extremely short.

Taquon Graham - 4* Committed to Texas
Troy James - 3* Committed to Texas Tyreece Lott - 3* Committed to TCU
Joshua Rogers - 3* Uncommitted

I'm less bullish on shaking Graham free than I have been.I like Rogers, but his recruitment is odd as I felt he would have pulled the trigger by now. Lott is a kid with a lot of potential. I have no read on James at all.


So my ideal close to the class would be: Keeping Phillips, The DB with his mouth shut, Rogers and Lott.

There are rumblings of a possible signing day surprise for us, it's been an recurring theme with Oklahoma recruiting over the years, we'll see.
