Yesterday we looked over the best non-bluechip prospect of the Stoops Era on offense, today is the defense. The players below played under Bob and were rated three stars or less out of high school
DL- Dan Cody/ Austin English
DL - Calvin Thibodeaux/Larry Birdine
DL - Charles Walker/Matt Romar
DL- Adrian Taylor/Casey Walker
LB- Jordan Evans
LB - Dom Alexander
LB- Ogbo Okoronkwo
DB - Quinton Carter
DB - Jordan Thomas
DB - Zack Sanchez
DB- Dom Franks
What jumps out to me: Oklahoma has had its bacon saved due to some "over performing" three star player. There is several ways to look at this issue: The positive is Stoops and Co have done some great scouting and coaching over recent years. The flip side of that is that Oklahoma has been limited in attracting top talent defensively recently due to Big 12 style of play. It was really hard to find defensive players who fit the criteria I set out prior to 2009, then it got a lot easier to fill this out. Thats glaring.
