Recruiting Round Up & Wishlist Jan 8

The major All American games have wrapped up and tho we didn't pick up talent at these games Oklahoma's talent showed out. National Signing Day is three weeks away and Oklahoma has four to six spots left, so I figured I'd write out a layman's roadmap.

Keep The Squad Together: First Priority by far is trying to secure the class from poaching. The nature of recruiting is fickle, following recruiting is a headache because momentum can start/stop on a dime so it is imperative that Bob & Staff finish strong.  LB Jacob Phillips is under heavy recruitment from LSU. That kid is incredibly gifted physically and is college ready now,. WR Charleston Rambo has had Texas in his ear since Tom Herman took over. Florida State has offered DE/LB K'Jakye Daley  Whatever happens understand it is their choice to make and they don't owe us anything, it would be hypocritical of OU fans to be upset over potential flips with our recruiting history .

Poachers Gonna Poach:   Oklahoma is actively pursuing prospects committed elsewhere. Taquon Graham committed to Texas, Montaric Brown committed to Arkansas, Jaylon Johnson committed to Utah.and Austin Faoliu committed to Arizona.  Like i said above, it would be awfully hypocritical to get upset over other schools making pushes.

Team Need:  We're currently sitting at 24 spots and most estimate we could maybe include 4-6 more.  The team first needs to continue to address the defensive line so that to me is the priority remaining, followed by db.. Landing Marvin Wilson would be nice but I don't believe that is realistic

Realistic* Wish List:

DE:Taquon Graham
DT:Austin Faoliu
CB:Jaylan Johnson
WR: James Robinson IV

* Recruits we have a better than 40% chance at

^ That list is certainly not comprehensive or representative of what OU or even recruiting insiders have on their boards, thats just me spitballing There are other prospects OU is in on obviously, I have no crystal ball here.

If you're new to following recruiting the next few weeks will be eye opening at how crazy the process is, and there is no real breaks either.as Jr Days (Recruiting Events for NEXT years signing class) will kick off nine days after national signing day.
