Cattle got out of the gate

There's really no positive spin to put on the last two weeks

Oklahoma is a low population state, the program cannot afford itself in letting top defensive prospects leave the state. Proctor to Ohio State was kind of an understandable/acceptable loss  it was expected. Tatum to Texas is inexcusable. It's a brutal blow. Oklahoma most secure the remaining instate talent and continue to recruit Tatum

It's not like Oklahoma isn't in on other elite defensive line talent either, it's just the image of it/timing of it is brutal. A program off two consecutive Big 12 titles, A playoff appearance and a Sugar Bowl win shouldn't be having to struggle to gain momentum this early in recruiting.

Herman has a good staff, he talks an extremely good game and it's obvious kids are buying in, I noted he has a lot of Mack Brown in him and that should be obvious to you all now. I think everyone associated with Oklahoma recruiting viewed Tatum as a lock, hell most of us thought he was a lock yesterday morning. This is a worrisome thing.

Oklahoma should still be getting good news this week from everything I've heard but overshadowed a bit. OU just needs some positive momentum and just build on it at this point. Don't dwell too much on the negative it's a long way till NSD.

Where does Oklahoma go from here?  It's a long long time till NSD, Oklahoma will have ample chances to win the state defectors back - but I expect we'll perhaps see an attempt to lock down the remaining in state targets and move full blast on the out of state targets.
